Application Instructions
 
Application Deadline: The deadline for 2011 applications is February 28, 2011. 

In addition to fulfilling the below criteria, an online application is required to be filled out through the School of Graduate Studies at McMaster. (Please note: The application website (SynApps) will be open on October 18th, 2010 for the 2011 academic year.  Applications submitted after 4pm on February 28th, 2011 will not be considered).

Once you have accessed the online application, under Degree click on Masters and then select Health Management from the drop down menu.

Application Procedure
 
The application to the program is a multi-staged process. The relevant Admissions Committee of the Rehabilitation Science Program will determine if:

  1. The academic and clinical requirements have been met;
  2. There is potential space in the program

All completed applications are examined. Those that meet the general requirements of the Program are assessed by our Admissions Committee.  If the Admissions Committee approves the application, a recommendation is submitted to the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (Health Sciences) for approval.  Successful candidates will receive a letter of offer from the Assistant Registrar of the School of Graduate Studies along with a letter from the Administrator, Graduate Studies.  All applicants are expected to respond within the specified time to the School of Graduate Studies when accepting or declining an offer.

Applicants who cannot be placed will receive notification from the Chair of the Admissions Committee.  Material sent to support an application cannot be returned.

Admissions Criteria
 
To be eligible for the Master of Health Management degree program at McMaster University, applicants must be regulated health professionals (for example: audiologists, dieticians, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists).
  1. Evidence of graduation from a health professional program, with a minimum of a B+ average (official transcripts required)
  2. Evidence of registration of the applicant's professional affiliation in his/her own province/country will be required
  3. Two academic references (available here)
  4. Two clinical or workplace-related references (available here)
  5. A written application outlining career plans and suitability for the Master of Health Management Program (available here).
If the applicant's native language is not English, an official copy of their TOEFL score (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or other evidence of competency in English is required.

Minimum TOEFL scores are:

  • iBT score of 92 or
  • 580 on the paper-based TOEFL or
  • 237 on the computer-based TOEFL
